Keemun, or Qimen hongcha, comes from Qimen county in Anhui province and is one of China’s classic black teas. The leaves are thin, tightly twisted and nearly black. The cup is a clear reddish amber, mellow and lightly sweet, with the soft floral, slightly smoky aroma Keemun is known for. Good on its own, and sturdy enough for a splash of milk.
